Panda Bear

Noah Lennox (born July 17[1], 1978), known as Panda Bear, is an experimental musician and a founding member of Animal Collective. He chose the name "Panda Bear" because he drew pictures of pandas as artwork on the recordings he made as a younger musician.[2] Lennox grew up in the Roland Park section of Baltimore, Maryland, and had attended high school in Pennsylvania. As a child and teenager, he played sports, mainly soccer and basketball, and had studied piano until he was eight and then cello. He later sang tenor in his high school chamber choir.[2] At the age of 17 he started to listen to electronic music styles like House & Techno and especially Aphex Twin, which turned out to be a huge influence on his later work.[3]

My timing is impeccable. Animal Collective released their traditional post-album EP this week, Fall Be Kind which includes a couple of regular live favourites of mine including What Would I Want? Sky. It also turns out that Uncut and Mojo have just made their ninth studio album Merriweather Post Pavillion their best album of 2009. Deservedly so too. Showing how much foresight and modesty I have...
What’s up guys. This is Mike.. Go ahead and call me MikeBro in honor of Carles the #1 altbro of all time. haha. Go ahead, give me shit cause I’m not him, but give me a little bit of room to grow, too. Sure no one can match Carleses style, but I think if you guys keep coming back, you’ll start to open up to new ideas and words, and just give me a chance to shine. Maybe I...

"evenfall" by agnes montgomery Evenfall is the upcoming LP from Paris’ Sebastien Schuller (out May 25), and the album’s stunning collage cover artwork is by one of my favorite artists, the amazing Agnes Montgomery. You may recall Montgomery’s glorious Pool Party, which graced the cover of Panda Bear’s Person Pitch, and is probably the most uncannily fitting...

This track is all over the place by now, but such a match made in heaven cant be ignored. Bradford Cox (Deerhunter & Atlas Sound) and Noah Lennox (Panda Bear from Animal Collective) have teamed up to produce one of the most gorgeous, bouncy dream-pop tracks of the past few years. I really hope the rest of the upcoming Atlas Sound LP is as good as this. Kinda reminds me of good times....
Atlanta absolutely refuses to stop cranking out solid music. Whether it’s the garage rock anthems of Black Lips, the psych pop sounds of Deerhunter, or the straight up metal of Mastodon they have been cranking out some great tunes in recent years. Well now you can add the synth pop sounds of Dog Bite to the list of top notch talent hailing from Georgia’s biggest city. I can’t...
