The Bacchae - great debut video

Pic by Silas Dominey

The Bacchae are an excellent garage rock band from Leeds. Their new video is most cool. Have a look at it here:

Singer Harriet Hyde reminds me a bit of Ippy from The Hells. She’s got a great voice, the drummer sounds like the dude from The Greenhornes and the heavy organ sound beefs things up nicely too - it’s got the weight and suss of a Jim Diamond produced Detroit gem.

They’re releasing their debut EP on June 20th at Santiago’s in Leeds. Get yourselves down there!

    They aint garage

The Bacchae aint garage(when I say garage I'm talking about stuff like the Back From The Grave and Teenage Shutdown comps.....they are more indie.......I saw them a while back in London...they aint really my cup of tea really....different strokes for different folks.....but they are a really nice group of people!

This band's a load of toss. What are these comments on about? The video only has shots of the singer and the guitarist too

Love this! I have just checked out this amazing new band's video and oh what a joy! It is so refreshing to see true talent. Is the author of the last comment blind or just bitterly jealous? The video begins with an energetic organist, and I definitely spied a cool bassist and skillful drummer aswell as a hot lead singer and talented lead guitarist...oh and did I spy a group of groovy dancers throughout?!!!! Welcome to the music scene and hope to see lots more of you.

    sublime!

The bacchae are such a breathe of fresh air compared to the plethora of boring and stale music around. Fantastic to see a band truly excited about what they are doing, a lightning bolt of energy in the zimmerframe world of today's music.

    The Bacchae

This video shows tremendous style. The Bacchae are one of the most exciting bands I've heard in a long time and they show that it's still possible to wear your influences on your sleeve and come up with something fresh whilst not sounding like a retro retread.
