Top 5 Bands to See:
1. Surfer Blood; might as well get them over and out of the way early, but if you miss ‘em today fear not they’re playing like 99 more shows after this one!
2. Small Black; Pitchfork loves ‘em, we love ‘em, everyone that writes about music seems to love ‘em, so we’re better you will too!
3. Woods; flat out fantastic band that happen to be playing a free show so long as you have an iPhone and don’t mind putting a new app on it for a day!
4. Male Bonding; the latest addition to the Sub Pop roster, these guys have just landed on my radar and have quickly shot up to being one of the "must see" bands of the marathon!
5. Dinosaur Feathers; everyone knows how I lauded The Antlers for years and finally they are getting the recognition they deserve, well these guys are next on my highly touted list and you will need to know this band in 2010!

Best of the Rest…
- Broadcast + Atlas Sound @ (le) poisson rouge
- Jukebox the Ghost @ Bowery Ballroom
- Ducktails, Julian Lynch, + Fluffy Lumbers @ Monkey Town (non-CMJ show)
- The Antlers @ Music Hall of Williamsburg (Brooklyn Vegan showcase)
- The Music Slut Showcase @ Pianos (same time as mine though!)
