Hello, just a wee note to say that the next blog is in the process of being written. I want it to be as well put together as possibleand researched properely, and I’m afraid of not had a lot of time, as well as a lot of things on my mind (the current economic situation is taking its toll, as well as other personal issues).
Thank you to everyone who’s read so far and left comments and so on, it is much appreciated.
So, The Velvet Underground & Nico will be the next one, followed by Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band. Piper at the Gates of Dawn by Pink Floyd, Roxy Music’s eponymous debut, and earlier Brian Eno are also all in the pipeline, and as ever keep the suggestions/conversation going. I’m looking for albums/artists/scenes from the mid-sixties through to mid-seventies at the moment, so as I can have vaguely chronological development.
Maybe an article on the intersection of Artrock and Pop music should be done at some point too (Roxy Music and Bowie being two particularly good examples from the early seventies)? Just a thought that occurred to me as I wrote this. Let me know what you think.
Finally, have a merry Christmas/Kwanzaa/holidays (belated happy Hanukkah/Eid wishes also) and a happy and prosperous New Year to you all.
A.R.H.
Severin! Severin!
Enough said.
