Wildlife Diet: Sky Larkin & Pulled Apart By Horses

I went to the first night of the BBC Introducing…Sky Larkin and Pulled Apart By Horses tour at Bristol’s Louisiana last night. It was Ace. So ace it sold out. That Huw Stephens knows a good thing when he sees one, so it should tell you something that even though he had man flu he wasn’t home in his sickbed but out and watching them play last night AND he’s going along to the Cardiff gig to see them AGAIN tonight. They are that good.

It really was a blinding night, PABH rocked the room and Sky Larkin started their set with Pica which made me happy. Also, the opening act was a talking laptop. Seriously. I wasn’t that drunk, at least not at that point. The local support act that I didn’t hallucinate was called Mr Hodgkinson’s Computer.

Here are some bad phone pictures of said gig, and an insight into the diet of Radio 1 DJs and gigging musicians. Sadly Santa didn’t bring me a digital SLR… bad Santa.

Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and Jen Long.

Huw was drinking pints of Orange Juice.

He has a cold. Get well soon Huw.

Oooooooh screen glare, but yes, that is a laptop singing into a microphone.

James from Pulled Apart By Horses likes to reward himself after a good gig.

He does this by drinking a cold lager.

From a bottle.

This photo is evidence of such behaviour.

I would really recommend that you go along to see them somewhere on the rest of their tour:

23 Cardiff, Barfly
24 Nottingham, The Bodega
26 Glasgow, King Tuts
27 Manchester, Night & Day
28 Oxford, The Bullingdon
29 London, ICA
30 Brighton, Audio
31 Leeds, Brudenell Social Club
