The Whip

Bruce Carter and Danny Saville always knew how to have a buzzing time. So many years ago, they were having that time all over the country with the band lost in legend, Nylon Pylon. But picking and pushing on from their past, the pair started from the beginning as their dance-rock chemistry wasn’t nearly ready to burn out yet.

Soon enough the duo doubled to form the most potent live show of all the basements in town. Their sound checked powerful dance production, uncontrollable anthemic choruses, and Carter's throaty call to the revellers of early hours. Forget whatever you've heard about daft pretenders like The Courteeners - it's this four piece who have rightful claim to Manchester's decadent throne.

In single 'Frustration' they kicked off with perfect, arms aloft synth-pop. With 'Trash' they motored a growling electro-rocker to sweat off their unremitting energy on stage. Most recently with 'Divebomb' (released on fashionable French imprint Kitsune) they crafted a Simian Mobile Banger of surging instrumental – all with a smile.

Having spent the last year striking out of the city limits, The Whip are storming towards the end of 2007 with relentless touring. First on the road with Hadouken! and then off on their own goodtime crusade, the thirty-four stop party will culminate in a night beneath Manchester Piccadilly train station with The Warehouse Project. Releasing their fifth single, disco-house bouncer 'Sister Siam' in November, The Whip are going to be devastating come New Year…
